If you are in Bangkok and having a Kanye moment, the place to go to touch the sky is Moon Bar. It's 61 floors above the heady swirl of temples, street grills, bustle and general jiggery-pokery of the city's nighttime.

 

Outdoors between the roof and the stars, it's like you are floating on a 22nd century magic carpet above the skyline - where a younger, sexier Judy Jetson might have hung out before she settled down with George.

 

Even this far up, the heat is sultry so it's a chablis rather than a merlot kind of a place and whilst you sip, you can marvel at a top down view of take off from distant Suvarnabhumi Airport. Vertigo, the attached restaurant is renowned but any meal would be beaten into second place by the sensory treat of the skyline.

 

Moon Bar isn't for every night of your Bangkok stay but it's for the special night.
