3 meals in New Delhi, India
Piers Moore Ede, of the Indiaphile, picks three great eats in Delhi:
Jai Hind Paratha Bhawan (26 Gali Parathe Wali, Chandi Chowk). I would travel a long way for a paratha and none are finer than the legendary Jai Hind Paratha Bhawan in Chandi Chowk. They have a 16 layer paratha speciality which simply beggars belief.
Saravana Bhavan (46 Janpath, Connaught Place) The most delicious South Indian food which comes piping hot, from smiling staff in a meticulously run and spotless place. Massala dosa are phenomenal here and they've got good mithai (sweets) for pudding.
Navdanya, the Slow Food Cafe (D26 Hauz Khas). Set up by legendary environmental activist Vandana Shiva this is a very special, albeit simple place serving home cooked organic 'slow food' which supports India's farmers. This place is a gem and lies at the heart of the burgeoning organic movement in India.
Piers helps to edit the wonderful Indiaphile and his travel book "All kinds of magic", published by Bloomsbury, is available now.
